Melissa George thinks people who have cosmetic surgery end up looking like Batman character the Joker.
The Australian actress doesn't understand why so many women turn to surgery to enhance their looks. She thinks going under the knife often has a negative impact on people's appearances.
"The world has bad plastic surgery. It's called plastic surgery. Of course you're not going to look good. If someone needs surgery after an accident, I'm a big supporter of that but I don't know why everyone wants to look like the Joker!" she quipped in an interview with OK! magazine.
Melissa is low maintenance when it comes to her beauty regime. The 35-year-old beauty relies on regular skin care to ensure her complexion stays healthy all year round.
"I do believe in maintenance though," she said.
"I wear sunscreen and I have a very strong chemical peel about once every two years. Nothing much else as my face is so full anyway - it's like a chubby little face!"
Melissa is famed for her luscious lips. The star has recalled one particular time her enviable features stood in the way of a film part though.
"My lips are huge!" she laughed. "A producer once called my agent and said, 'I'd like to meet Melissa but the character doesn't have those big lips like Angelina Jolie so we'd really like her to come in and not use her lips!'
"I said, 'You can tell them I'm not coming in for the meeting!' You get asked all sorts of ridiculous question in this business!"
