Holy plastic surgery rumors, Batman! Word has it that fashion?s billion-dollar woman, former pop star Jessica Simpson, is planning to have a cosmetic surgeon alter her breasts this fall ? and not for the reason you might think.
A source allegedly told In Touch Weekly, as stalwart a bastion of journalistic integrity as there ever was, that Simpson plans on having her double D?s taken down a size or three before her upcoming wedding to football player Eric Johnson. The augmentation is said to be a part of an overall plan to slim down before her November nuptials, which will include a diet and exercise regimen. A friend told the magazine, ?She?s never loved having a huge chest.?
That part is true ? Simpson told USA Today that ?there?s no way you?re not going to be affected? by the media scrutiny that comes along with being a highly photographed person. She even filmed a TV show called The Price of Beauty to explore her and other women?s issues with body image.
And that?s exactly why we think this rumor is a load of poppycock. Simpson is the poster child for being villified by the press after gaining even a barely imperceptible amount of weight, and she?s taken a pretty tough stance against that kind of bullying in the past. We don?t think she would ever risk her reputation as a woman who sticks up for women who aren?t pin thin just to look pin thin in her wedding photos. If her breasts were causing her back pain, we could understand that, but without a legitimate medical reason for the alteration, we just can?t see this one as true.
