American Society of Plastic Surgeons' Conference Raises Questions About Triglyceride Lowering Benefits of Body Contouring Procedures - PRWeb

Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) October 25, 2011

At the 2011 annual American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) meeting, findings were released from a Kansas-based study measuring triglyceride levels of 229 liposuction patients before and after fat-reduction plastic surgery. Patients with high triglyceride levels before surgery averaged a 43% decrease of the harmful fats in their blood three months post-surgery along with a decrease in white blood cell count, which is another risk factor in the development of cardiovascular and metabolic diseases.

Dr. David Whiteman performs a number of aesthetic enhancement procedures at his Atlanta practice, including liposuction, tummy tuck, breast surgery, and mommy makeover surgery. Though not a replacement for exercise and a healthy lifestyle, Dr. Whiteman uses these body contouring procedures as the extra push many mothers need to return to their pre-baby appearances and embrace more active lives.

Dr. Whiteman shares his practice?s mission to promote overall health stating, ?As a doctor of medicine and a plastic surgeon, I understand that one?s appearance is often married with how they feel. I know that if patients commit to healthier habits, they will also maximize the rejuvenation effects capable with plastic surgery.?

To further enhance the positive impact liposuction and post weight loss plastic surgery can have, Dr. Whiteman encourages his Southern Plastic Surgery patients to take advantage of the practices? ACE certified personal training and nutrition coach partner, Daryl Madison of Lifestyle Fitness. Additionally, the Atlanta cosmetic surgeon also regularly updates the health and wellness portion of his blog with healthy recipes and exercise tips to provide easily accessible information to aid patients in maintaining their newly rejuvenated appearance and improving their health.
